Linda Easto ~ The founder of Dilemma
Linda has 25 years’ experience of supporting an addicted son. For 18 of those years, she was flying solo, initially not understanding what she was dealing with. She researched and educated herself about addiction but recognised she needed support as her mental health was being affected. In July 2013 she found Burton Addiction Centres Family Group, and this is where her recovery started as she had become addicted to her addicted son. Here she learned about enabling, co-dependency, boundaries, the importance of her self-care, and how to support her addicted son in the right way. Her passion to help others in her situation was born from her lived experience and lack of community support for families.
She has experience of working in a corporate environment as a people manager, creating detailed, how to, procedures at ISO standards, she then moved into business analysis, systems trainer, and on to project management.
After leaving her corporate life she opened a hair and beauty business with her daughter and worked there for over 10 years before deciding it was time to find her passion – supporting and educating people who have a loved one in addiction.
Lauren Robertson ~ Trustee
Lauren has worked in a number of compliance/governance roles surrounding government funded training for schools, colleges, universities, and councils.
She has a 3 year old son and has first-hand experience of living with an addict in the form of her partner. She has lived and breathed what it is like to go through the process of coming to terms with what feels like an impossible situation, and she is an example of there always being a light in the darkest of times if you dig deep enough; She has sought out numerous tools to support her own healing process that do work. She is extremely passionate about spreading this message and being a part of de-stigmatising conversations around addiction for people who are affected by this indirectly in their lives.
Lauren started attending Better Way Recovery Family Support group in early 2022. Her journey is impressive, arriving at her initial meeting in a very emotional state, she applied everything that was being taught in the group and is now in her own recovery, because she realised she had become addicted to the addict.

Michelle Rose ~ Trustee
I am 58 yrs old and have 3 boys. And when I’m not working I love organising and entertaining… family and friends are valuable to me!
I have 3 boys from my 1st marriage and a step daughter from my 2nd marriage. I also have 7 grandchildren.
I have worked many jobs from home care, nursing homes and an auxiliary in Poole hospital.
I’ve also worked in lettings and my current job is a property support advisor in the care sector.
My life with living with an addict has been affected by my 2 sons and I only wish there was help when I was having every day battles with my youngest son. With both of them together I’ve been around addiction for about 18yrs.
Dilemma was introduced to me by middle son who had hit rock bottom, and yet again I didn’t know where to turn. My son was attending Better Way Recovery to help his recovery. And I know with me attending family support I learnt to help my son in the right way and it taught me to look after myself.
I am now a trustee for Dilemma Charity, and I’m committed to helping those who have loved ones with addiction.
My main roll in Dilemma is Fundraising.
Catherine Wright ~ Volunteer
I am a single mom of 3 teenagers, and I am the adult child of an alcoholic father who was violent and an abuser. This created a pattern of self destruction moving through my life. Then I decided enough is enough!
I decided it was time to do something with the things I’d learned and I have taken my experiences and started to train as a Therapist.
I found Dilemma Charity which has opened up a channel to help people. I didn’t have this help growing up and have had to heal as an adult. It has been emotionally draining and being able to reach out to help others, I feel, is my true happy place.
